SITARAM JINDAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP SCHEME

Jindal Aluminium Ltd, Jindal Nagar, Tumkur Road, Bangalore-560073 (JAL) and Sitaram Jindal Foundation, 11, Green Avenue, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi – 110 070 (SJ Foundation) which are consistently engaged in the field of Charitable and philanthropic activities in India since 1969, in furtherance to their said endeavour and sublime approach for the benefit of the general masses, have instituted the ‘Sitaram Jindal Research Fellowship Scheme’ to encourage and inspire the talent and recognize excellence in innovation and research. This 'SITARM JINDAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP SCHEME' would be managed by "SJ Foundation", on behalf of JAL.

FELLOWSHIP: Up to Rs. 1 lakh per month

LAST DATE: There is no last date. The applications for fellowship can be sent any time of the year.

FIELDS OF RESEARCH: The proposed area of research/work of the candidate could be in any of the following fields.
  • Any field of Science in its broadest terms including (but not limited to) Engineering and Technology, Medicine including Indian Systems of Medicine with special emphasis on Naturopathy, Agriculture, Vet. Sc., Environment etc.
  • Innovative solutions to the problems faced by the country and the people of India in any field.
  • Towards poverty alleviation - innovations to benefit the poor in a big way.

TISS Fellowship Programme, 2013 – Batch II (only for: TISS students passed out during 2011-2013)

(only for: TISS graduates passed out during 2011-2013)

TISS has created a fellowship programme, which provides financial support to TISS graduates to work with people in rural and urban areas, and facilitate social and economic transformation in their lives and environment by intervening in various thematic areas and projects. Only those candidates with commitment to foster peoples’ agency for transformation of their own context and willing to work in challenging conditions, need to apply.
Vacancies: 20 positions
Duration: The duration of the fellowship is two years.
Eligibility: Student who graduated from TISS in 2011 up till 2013 can apply for these positions. (Two of the Thematic areas, listed below, listing order of preference.)

Application Process:
  1. Send in filled Application form & CV
  2. In addition to the CV, applicants are required to send a Statement of Intent/Purpose of about 1000 words. (This will outline the current social challenges that they see, and the Initiative that they would like to undertake for social transformation, under the specific thematic areas of the Fellowship programme that they are applying for).
Selection Process:
  1. An Independent panel will be formed to interview candidates.
  2. If selected for two thematic areas, successful applicants will be awarded their first preference.
Fellowship Entitlements: (In addition to fellowship salary of Rs. 22,000/- onwards, all positions will have)
  1. Health and accident insurance
  2. Travel allowance
  3. HRA
  4. Complete mobile work station.

Interviews in respective thematic panels will be scheduled on First week of July 2013. Applicants will be informed of their final interview dates through their personal email id mentioned in the application form.
