About: Many research scholars pursuing their PhD are at a critical stage of analyzing their data and also many faculty members wishing to publish their work in good quality journals need to understand and use various statistical analysis and techniques to improve their chances of publication. Through a comprehensive workshop on statistical data analysis, IMT – Nagpur is committed to bridge this gap and facilitate the scholars to analyze their data on complex problems in different disciplines such as Social Sciences, Biological Sciences and the related fields. The aim of the workshop is to provide a comprehensive understanding of statistical concepts relevant to scientific research and to give hands-on experience in applying SPSS software in solving research problems. Workshop methodology will be followed in imparting relevant theoretical and practical inputs. This Workshop is conducted in collaboration with IBM SPSS.

LONDON (AP) — The newspaper coverage was troubling: London’s huge international showcase was beset by planning problems, local opposition and labor woes — and the transport was a mess.
It sounds like the 2012 Olympics, but this was the Great Exhibition of 1851 generating stories of late trains, unscrupulous landlords and dangerous overcrowding. Coverage of the event is found in 4 million pages of newspapers from the 18th and 19th centuries being made available online Tuesday by the British Library, in what head of newspapers Ed King calls “a digital Aladdin’s Cave” for researchers. The online archive is a partnership between the library and digital publishing firm Brightsolid, which has been scanning 8,000 pages a day from the library’s vast periodical archive for the past year and plans to digitize 40 million pages over the next decade. A glance at the stories of crime and scandal shows some things haven’t changed — including grumbling letter-writers complaining about disruption caused by the 1851 exhibition, held inside a specially built Crystal Palace in London’s Hyde Park.

Scheme Overview: PMRDF is an excellent opportunity in the development sector that will provide exceptional growth potential.
Eligibility:
· Must be 25-30 years old
· Must be a postgraduate in Social Science/ Science/ Management or a graduate in Law/ Engineering/ Medicine
· Knowledge of Hindi and a local language used in an IAP district is desirable.
· Work experience is preferred.
About: The Ministry of Home Affairs has identified 60 districts of the country as Left Wing Extremism (LWE) districts. In these districts, Maoist groups have unleashed violent, armed conflicts with the state machinery. The Government of India has launched a special programme in these districts called Integrated Action Plan (IAP). On 13th September, the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, announced a scheme of Rural Development Fellows for deploying young professionals in each of the IAP districts to assist the District Collector.
