New Journal: "Archives of Medicine and Health Sciences" (S-A)

About the Journal: Archives of Medicine and Health Sciences, a publication of Yenepoya University, is a peer-reviewed, open access online and print International journal published biannually. The journal’s full text is available online at http://www.amhsjournal.org. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository. The journal does not charge for submission, processing or publication of manuscripts and even for color reproduction of photographs.

'Archives of Medicine and Health Sciences' (AMHS, Print ISSN 2321-4848) is the official peer reviewed open access international journal of Yenepoya University. AMHS is dedicated to the publication of scholarly and outstanding peer-reviewed articles to foster education, research and professionalism in the fields of Internal Medicine, Clinical and Allied Health Sciences including Nursing, Physiotherapy, Dental and Medical Education. AMHS's philosophy is to provide online free and open access since research networks in the global research community should be transparent without borders, barriers or discrimination. Its main objective is to reflect multidisciplinary scientific research and collaboration among academicians, educators, clinicians and researchers from India as well as international medical community. To ensure international relevance, to maintain high quality, and guarantee a rigorous peer-review process, AMHS has Editorial Board members who are experts in their respective specialties from all around the world. Editorial content includes Invited Editorial, Original Research Articles, Reviews, Case reports & Short communications, Special articles, Medical Education Articles, Medical History Articles, Teaching Images and Letters to the Editor. AMHS is published biannually in June and December.

Scope of the journal: AMHS invites concise, succinct and educative papers covering the diverse fields of Internal Medicine, Clinical and Allied Health Sciences including Nursing, Physiotherapy, Dental and Medical Education.

Submit the Articles: Articles can be submitted electronically from http://www.journalonweb.com/amhs. This is an online manuscript processing system which allows submission of articles with tracking of its progress till proof stage. One is required to register as a new author – the process being a simple self-explanatory two stage process. Link for new author registration is available from the home page (http://www.journalonweb.com/amhs). 
If article is submitted electronically, there is no need to send a hard copy.

21st Jankidevi BajajPuraskar for Woman Rural Entrepreneur – nominations invited

Award (Puraskar): Cash award of Rs.3,00,000/-, a citation and a certificate.
Deadline: July 31, 2013.
Organizaion: Indian Merchants’ Chamber (IMC) was set up in 1907 and has an active Ladies Wing which was established in 1966. Initiated as a platform for creating social awareness, it has grown to become a dynamic association for the empowerment of women. The IMC-Ladies’ Wing Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar was instituted in 1993, the birth centenary of Smt. Jankidevi Bajaj (1893-1979), with the objective of building a close alliance with rural India to promote, support and honour the substantial work being done at grassroots level by entrepreneurs. Since its inception, 20 women have won this award.
Criteria:
  • The nominee must be of Indian nationality.
  • The nominee must be a woman.
  • She should have made an outstanding contribution to business entrepreneurship by which rural India has benefitted and rural society has improved.
  • The candidate may not live in rural India/or India
Self nominated applications will also be accepted.
Award Ceremony: The Puraskar Presentation function is scheduled in the first week of January 2014 in Mumbai.

International Research Workshop “Analysis for Research- The Descriptive, Exploratory, Inferential, Predictive and Causal Analysis"

Course Description:
RCTD is Organizing an International Research Workshop “Analysis for Research- The Descriptive, Exploratory, Inferential, Predictive and Causal Analysis” on 30 - 31 July, 2013 through HD Video Conferencing.

The workshop is designed to understand the key concepts and methods of statistical analysis required during the conduct of research for thesis/paper or research projects.  The workshop will help to understand techniques for summarizing and presenting data, estimation, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, comparing groups, measuring associations, seeing relationships and predictive analysis. The workshop will focus more on understanding of key concepts and statistical thinking, and less on formulas and calculations, which can now be done on statistical software (SPSS). The participants will be provided with their relevant discipline data sets, and they will perform the tests/exercises along with the international resource persons.

The researchers from Universities, Research Institutes, R&D Organizations and Social Sector Organizations can participate individually or institutional in their own auditorium/office/home from anywhere around the world. The individual participant can participate using a laptop/desktop computer connected with internet.
