    ELIGIBILITY OF THE PARTICIPANTS: Registered/enrolled Ph.D. Research scholars of any Indian University/Institute/College in any branch of Social Sciences are eligible to apply in the prescribed application form. M.Phil students and faculty members are not eligible for this Course. Candidate will be selected on the basis of (1) the strength of their research proposal (250 words in English) (2) stage of research (pre-data collection / fieldwork phase) and (3) first time applicants for Research Methodology/similar workshops.

    ABOUT: Analyzing data through inferential statistical techniques using software like SPSS, AMOS, Eviews, and MATLABS etc. is essential for effective decision making.  Experience has shown that only a solid training in statistical analysis using software leads to their increased application in research in turn improving the quality of research output.
    This workshop is designed to train the participants to work on quality research in Management and IT. It aims at developing the ability to undertake rigorous and relevant research in Management and organizational context and to enhance their performance as reflective practitioners. The programs will guide and equip participants in designing and implementing research projects on their own, and also enable them to carry out a clear brief and actionable research work.
    KEY HIGHLIGHTS: Identify Research Problem, Select Research Design & Frame Research objectives.
    1. Writing good review of literature.
    2. Selection of statistical tools for inferential analysis.
    3. Hands on practice using SPSS, Eviews and AMOS for analyzing data on statistical methods such as: Regression Analysis, ANOVA, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Structural Equation Modeling, Conjoint, Discriminant Analysis, Cluster Analysis, Multidimensional Scaling, Multidimensional Analysis, Logit & Probit, in addition to all the statistical tools applicable to Univariate and Bivariate research studies.

    "Prof AL Nagar Award Scheme-2015" and "Prof AL Nagar Visiting Fellowship”

    With the financial support from the family and friends of Prof AL Nagar, the TIES has instituted the following schemes to commemorate the contributions of Prof. Nagar. 

    1. “Prof AL Nagar Fellow”: This is an annual award to be given to an outstanding Indian scholar between the age of 45 to 65 years. Under this award, the selected scholar shall give a minimum of two lectures during the year in any of the reputed Indian institutes/universities chosen by the TIES/TIES Trust and one lecture during the annual TIES conference.
    The selected scholar would be honored with a citation and a suitable cash prize during the annual conference.
    The TIES Trust has constituted a high level expert Committee, under the Chairmanship of Prof. V.R.Panchamukhi, Chairman, TIES Trust, to identify suitable scholars for this award.
    The Committee hereby invites nominations for the Award on the basis of which recommendations will be made to the President, TIES. Kindly note the following:

    A. Eligibility requirement:
    1.The candidate for the Award should be between 45 and 65 years of age as on January 1, 2015;
    2.Research Work should be of high quality, in the area of quantitative economics and should have been largely carried out in India.

    B.Nomination should have full CV of the nominee which should include the following information about the nominee:
    a. Name in full;
    b. Date of birth;
    c. Educational Qualification;
    d. Present position and earlier institutional affiliations;
    e. A list of major publications, with focus on the significant contributions;
    f. Copies of some select Publications;
    g. Any other relevant information; Incomplete information will not be entertained.
    All the nominations must be received by 31st August 2015 and sent to Dr N R  Bhanumurthy, National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, Delhi, and Secretary, TIES, (e-mail: nrbmurthy@gmail.com) who will co-ordinate with the selection committee. 

    2. “Prof AL Nagar Visiting Fellowship”: This is an annual fellowship to be given to a maximum of two young research scholars in a year who are pursuing their Ph.d in India. Under this fellowship, the research scholar would spend one to two months with an expert/institution/university within India that can contribute substantially to the thesis work. The TIES/TIES Trust would provide travel and moderate living expenses to the selected scholars and also a token honorarium to the host expert.

    The research scholars who are below the age of 30 years as on 1st January 2015 are eligible to apply. The application should consist of a brief CV, date of birth, institutional affiliation, recommendation letter from the research supervisor and a letter of confirmation from the host expert/institute/university. In case if research scholars are unable to identify the expert/institute/university, the TIES could also help in identifying suitable experts/ Institute/university, if the scholar is shortlisted for the fellowship. A selection committee constituted by TIES Trust would shortlist the research scholar for the fellowship. The applications should reach the Secretary, TIES (e-mail: nrbmurthy@gmail.com) by 31st August, 2015.
