As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the Central Library, NITK Surathkal is organising an International Conference on Digital Technologies and Transformation in Academic Libraries (DigiTTAL 2019) during December 26-28, 2019.

ABOUT: The nature of information environment is changing dramatically with the advancement in ICTs and emerging trending technologies. Ever changing user needs and expectations have made library and information science profession as one of the most exciting one to work in and provides opportunities for LIS professionals.

To address the issues and challenges of modern librarianship, a National Conference on Modern Librarianship: Opportunities and Challenges is jointly organised by Resource Centre, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai and Bombay Science Librarians’ Association during June 8-9, 2018. The conference would definitely help libraries to stay in tune with rapid changes occurring due to the introduction of emerging innovations, trends and technologies and prepare themselves for excellence to serve the users.

The two-day National Conference will focus on various themes of the National Conference under the main theme Modern Librarianship: Opportunities and Challenges.

OBJECTIVES: The conference is planned to bring together Library and Information Science professionals, academicians and educationists in the field of Library and Information Science to create an environment to discuss the need to transform the libraries, roles being played by the library professionals in changing the libraries. It is an opportunity to discuss the challenges being faced by librarians in transforming the libraries by presenting papers, discussions, exchange of views and sharing of experience.

IN  CHANGING ENVIRONMENT"

Call for Papers: We feel privileged to inform you that we are going to publish a book entitled “ICT for Library Management in Changing Environment” with ISBN You are requested to contribute your original research paper/articles for the book.

Theme: “ICT for Library Management in Changing Environment"

Sub-Themes

• New Concept of Management
• HRM: Organization, Motivation, Training & Development
• Financial Management: Resource Mobilization, Cost Effectiveness and Cost Benefit Analysis
• Total Quality Management: LIS Related Standards
• Library House Keeping Operations: Different Sections of LICs and Use of IT in different Sections

Guidelines for Preparation & Submission of Article/Paper

The first page of the manuscript should include the following information –

• The name(s) of the author(s) and their professional affiliations
• Postal address of the corresponding author
• Phone number(s) of the corresponding author
• Email address (s) of the corresponding author
• Author(s) profile. The authors’ profile should be within 100 words.

1. Title: The title of the paper should be in a 20 point Times New Roman Font. It should be bold typed and fully capitalized.
2. Abstract: Abstract should be in fully italicized text, not exceeding 200 words. The abstract must explain background, aims, methods, results and conclusion.
3. Keywords: Abstract must be followed by list of keywords (maximum 5 numbers).
4. After that, the manuscript should be started with a brief Introduction of the paper, followed by Objectives, Significance, Methodology, Data Analysis, Findings, Recommendations, and Conclusion. Among all these, Introduction and Conclusion are two mandatory parts of any kind of manuscript and remaining parts depend on the nature of the manuscript and authors are free to adopt them as per their choice and requirement. Articles/ Papers should not be more than 6000 words inclusive of all notes, references, tables, annexure, and appendices.
5. References must be in the APA format and carefully checked for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
6. Formatting Guideline: Manuscript must be in English prepared on a standard A4 size paper setting with 3 cm margins on all sides. No Table/ Graph/ Picture should cross this margin. Font Type: Times New Roman. Font Size: Heading (Bold and 16 points), Sub-heading (Italics and 16 points), and Body (14 points). Line Spacing: 1.5 spaced.
7. Submission of an Article/ Papers will be automatically considered as Declaration regarding originality of his/ her work and handing over the copyright of their work to the editor of the proposed book.

About LTC 2018: Library Technology Conclave (LTC 2018) is a continuation of Koha Conclave instituted by Informatics in 2016 as an annual event. The first Koha Conclave was held in Bangalore in February 2016. The second was held in Pune in partnership with the Information Resource Centre - TCS, Pune. At this second Conclave it was decided to rename the conclave with expanded scope as Library Technology Conclave (LTC), to be held annually in partnership with a leading library & Information Centre.

LTC 2018 is designed to focus on technologies behind the functions and services of libraries of today & tomorrow.


Awards | LTC2018: Nominations are invited from all Libraries in India for the following awards:
