SITARAM JINDAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP SCHEME

Jindal Aluminium Ltd, Jindal Nagar, Tumkur Road, Bangalore-560073 (JAL) and Sitaram Jindal Foundation, 11, Green Avenue, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi – 110 070 (SJ Foundation) which are consistently engaged in the field of Charitable and philanthropic activities in India since 1969, in furtherance to their said endeavour and sublime approach for the benefit of the general masses, have instituted the ‘Sitaram Jindal Research Fellowship Scheme’ to encourage and inspire the talent and recognize excellence in innovation and research. This 'SITARM JINDAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP SCHEME' would be managed by "SJ Foundation", on behalf of JAL.

FELLOWSHIP: Up to Rs. 1 lakh per month

LAST DATE: There is no last date. The applications for fellowship can be sent any time of the year.

FIELDS OF RESEARCH: The proposed area of research/work of the candidate could be in any of the following fields.
  • Any field of Science in its broadest terms including (but not limited to) Engineering and Technology, Medicine including Indian Systems of Medicine with special emphasis on Naturopathy, Agriculture, Vet. Sc., Environment etc.
  • Innovative solutions to the problems faced by the country and the people of India in any field.
  • Towards poverty alleviation - innovations to benefit the poor in a big way.

TISS Fellowship Programme, 2013 – Batch II (only for: TISS students passed out during 2011-2013)

(only for: TISS graduates passed out during 2011-2013)

TISS has created a fellowship programme, which provides financial support to TISS graduates to work with people in rural and urban areas, and facilitate social and economic transformation in their lives and environment by intervening in various thematic areas and projects. Only those candidates with commitment to foster peoples’ agency for transformation of their own context and willing to work in challenging conditions, need to apply.
Vacancies: 20 positions
Duration: The duration of the fellowship is two years.
Eligibility: Student who graduated from TISS in 2011 up till 2013 can apply for these positions. (Two of the Thematic areas, listed below, listing order of preference.)

Application Process:
  1. Send in filled Application form & CV
  2. In addition to the CV, applicants are required to send a Statement of Intent/Purpose of about 1000 words. (This will outline the current social challenges that they see, and the Initiative that they would like to undertake for social transformation, under the specific thematic areas of the Fellowship programme that they are applying for).
Selection Process:
  1. An Independent panel will be formed to interview candidates.
  2. If selected for two thematic areas, successful applicants will be awarded their first preference.
Fellowship Entitlements: (In addition to fellowship salary of Rs. 22,000/- onwards, all positions will have)
  1. Health and accident insurance
  2. Travel allowance
  3. HRA
  4. Complete mobile work station.

Interviews in respective thematic panels will be scheduled on First week of July 2013. Applicants will be informed of their final interview dates through their personal email id mentioned in the application form.

Dr. Ambedkar Social Science Research Fellowships for Scheduled Castes candidates intending to do M.Phil./Ph.D. in India

Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Research & Training Institute Pune, (Maharashtra) announces THREE (3) fellowships to encourage Scheduled Caste (SC) students from any social science or humanities discipline intending to pursue his/her M.Phil/Ph.D. degree on any issue that Dr. Ambedkar dealt with during his life time.
These fellowships open to SC candidates from any part of India who have already registered for M.Phil/Ph.D.
The qualified candidate will receive a monthly allowance of Rs.13000 and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 10,000 for the first two years to complete his/her M.Phil. degree, and those intending to pursue his/her Ph.D. after M.Phil. and those who got admission for direct Ph.D. will receive a monthly allowance of Rs.15000 and an annual contingency grant of Rs.20,000 for three years to complete his/her Ph.D. degree.
The fellowships would come into effect from the academic year that will be declared soon on its website.

Admission for Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Library and Information Management (2013-14, One year e-Learning Programme)


Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Centre for Library and Information Management Studies (CLIMS) Sir Dorabji Tata Memorial Library, (SDTML), announces admissions to Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Library and Information Management (PGDLIM).

The programme is designed for: librarians and information professionals who wish to upgrade their ICT skills and have extensive exposure to digital library environment.
Eligibility criteria for admission:
  • Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc) or Masters of Library and Information Science (MLISc) from any recognized university
  • Preference will be given to candidates with relevant work experience
Venue and fees:
  • The course will be conducted at TISS Main Campus in Mumbai
  • Fee for this entire one year programme is approximately Rs.22,450.00
