Call for Participation
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee Celebration Year in 2011–2012. As part of the celebrations, a three-day Conference on ‘Globalisation and Social Transformation: The Indian Experience’, is being organised. The Conference will provide a platform to academicians, activists, practitioners and researchers to discuss the challenges of globalisation and the ensuing social transformation within a multi-disciplinary framework. The Conference aims at enhancing knowledge, identifying newer areas and methods of policy advocacy and intervention.
The Conference comprises keynote lectures, plenaries, parallel sessions, as well as oral and poster presentations. We are pleased to invite papers for participation across the following themes:
- Economic Growth, Equality and Human Development
- Organisation, Work and Innovation
- State, Governance and Citizenship
- Community, identity and Marginalisation
- Environment, Resources and Resistance
- Inequalities, Vulnerabilities and Human Health and Well-being
- Transforming Role of Social Institutions in a Global Society
- Culture , Nation and Change
Please submit an abstract of 350 words in the prescribed format with 4 keywords on any of the areas identified above to pjnc@tiss.edu on or before September 30, 2011.
