Award: Prof. M.V.Pylee Award 2012 for the Distinguished University Teacher of India

CUSAT invites Nominations for the
Prof. M.V.Pylee Award 2012 for the Distinguished University Teacher of India.

Nominations are invited for the CUSAT’s prestigious Prof.M.V.Pylee Award for the distinguished Academician of India-2012. Distinguished personalities, Vice Chancellors, University and College teachers, research students and other personalities may nominate a distinguished teacher for this award.  Self-nominations are not acceptable. The triennial award is given to an excellent teacher, a good researcher, research guide, an educationist, an educational planner and a visionary of future programmes in higher education. The age-limit fixed for earlier awards has now been lifted.
Prize: Cash Award of Rs.TWO LAKHS, Citation and Memento!Closing Date: The last date for the receipt of nominations is 31-03-2012.

Criteria to be followed for Nominating a Candidate for the
MVP Award for the Distinguished Academician-2012

The MVP Award of CUSAT is to be given to a University professor in India, who has performed well in all fields he/she has entered.  The candidate should have a combination of the following “factors”:-
1.  a good teacher
2. a good researcher
3.  a good research guide
4.  a great institution builder, who recognized the need for building up new institutions (Departments, Schools, Institutes, Centres etc.) for Teaching & Research and accomplishes these by his efforts.
5. a great team leader/organizer.
6. a national leader in higher education, as recognized by UGC, AICTE, or other All India Organisations/ Academies/Associations etc., by including his/her name in the expert and Special Committees.
7. an educationist
8. a planner, planning for developing higher education in the country.
9. a visionary, in the sense that he visualizes or dreams things that should happen for the benefit of society.
10. a successful personality who has made his mark in any area where he worked in various capacities.  A model of his category of people.
