Online Application Form INFLIBNET Centre inviting applications from Indian Nationals on direct recruitment basis for the under-mentioned posts in Library and Information Science as well as in Computer Science and Administrative area:
1. SCIENTIST-D (LIBRARY SCIENCE): 1 Post - reserved for OBC (non creamy layer)ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
(i) Ph.D. in Library & Information Science with 4 (Four) years relevant experience or M.Lib./M.L.I.Sc. with 10 years relevant experience in a supervisory position.
(ii) Evidence of innovative library services, published work and professional commitments.
(iii) Experience in computerized library operations and networking or IT environment.
PAY BAND : Rs.15,600-39,100 (PB-3) plus Grade Pay – Rs.7,600/-
AGE LIMIT: 45 years
2. SCIENTIST-B(COMPUTER SCIENCE): 1 post – Reserved for OBC (non creamy layer)Essential Qualification : BE(Computer Science)/MCA
PAY BAND : Rs.15600-39,100(PB-3) plus Grade Pay Rs.5,400/-
AGE LIMIT : 35 years
3. SCIENTIST-B(LIBRARY SCIENCE): 2 posts - reserved for OBC (non-creamy layer)Essential Qualification : MLib/MLISc/Equivalent with 1(one) year experience.
PAY BAND : Rs.15600-39,100(PB-3) plus Grade Pay Rs.5,400/-
AGE LIMIT : 35 years plus age relaxation of 3 years available under reservation policy.
4. SCIENTIFIC & TECHNICAL OFFICER (LIBRARY SCIENCE): 1 Post - Unreserved
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
(i) MLib/MLISc/equivalent OR B.Lib./B.L.I.Sc. with 8(eight) years relevant experience.
(ii) Experience in computerized library operations and networking or IT environment will be preferred.
PAY BAND : Rs.9,300-34,800 (PB-2) plus Grade Pay Rs.4,600/-
AGE LIMIT: 30 years
JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LIBRARY & INFORMATION SCIENCE PROFESSIONALS: The incumbent will be a member of team of young library and information science professionals responsible for interacting with and assisting the university libraries in their computerization work, creation of machine readable databases, working knowledge of library automation software, creation and development of digital libraries and institutional repositories, digitisation of library resources, bibliographic formats such as CCF, MARC21, etc. electronic publishing, knowledge of E-journal, e-books, Web 2.0, Library 2.0 services and should be well-versed with applications of ICT and libraries. Besides, the incumbent would be required to conduct training programmes for library professionals in computerized library operation, arranging seminars/conferences/workshops etc.
JOB DESCRIPTION FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE/ENGINEERING PROFESSIONALS: The incumbent will be the member of a team of young computer professionals involved in development of library related software and setting-up of network facilities. The candidate should possess good knowledge of modern proprietary and open source operating system. He/she will be involved in development of various web-based services using development tools, creating and developing web content and its management and constantly evolving new tools and their application for Indian academic community.
5. ASSISTANT: 1 Post – reserved for OBC (non-creamy layer)ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with 3(three) years experience in the field of Purchase & Stores/Accounts/Establishment in a University/Govt./Autonomous body/reputed private firm.
PAY BAND: Rs.5,200-20,200 (PB-1) plus Grade Pay Rs.2,400/-AGE LIMIT: 30 years (35 years for central & state Govt. autonomous bodies, university employees)
GENERAL CONDITIONS :1. Candidates with requisite qualifications acquired from recognized university/institution need only apply in online application format and send hardcopy of the application alongwith copy of testimonials to the Centre. Application not made online will not be considered.
2. Only post qualification experience will be counted.
3. Written test/skill test may be conducted for any/all posts advertised.
4. The posts carries usual allowances as per Govt. of India rules as applicable from time to time. The selected candidate will be covered under New Pension Scheme only.
5. At present the place of posting is at Gandhinagar but the selected candidates are liable to be posted for work anywhere in India as and when required.
6. Candidates working in Govt./Govt.Undertaking/Autonomous bodies/ Universities must forward their applications through proper channel.
7. Incomplete applications shall be rejected and no interim correspondence will be entertained.
8. Outstation candidates called for personal interview will be paid IIIrd AC railway fare by the shortest route, on production of photocopy of tickets as a proof of Journey.
9. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
10. The Number of post advertised may be increased or decreased depending upon the requirement.
11. In case of highly deserving candidates, conditions can be relaxed.
12. Age relaxation in case of reserve category/Govt./Uni. Employee as per Govt. Of India Rules as applicable from time to time.
13. A scrutiny committee will short list the candidates to be called for test/interview as per the criteria set by the committee.
